The old notion that genes control your life has been replaced by new epigenetic discoveries. Part I: Tuning In
1. Find a comfortable place to sit.
Find a place where you will be able to focus without distraction. You can sit on a cushion with your legs crossed on if this is comfortable for you. If you prefer, the meditation can be done while seated in a chair. Make sure that your feet are placed firmly on the ground.
2. Align your posture.
When taking your seat in meditation, bring your attention into your body. Straighten the spine, the main energy highway of the body. Lift your head so that the crown is pointed towards the sky. In my meditations recently I have been sat with the question about “What would it be like to love all of yourself?”
At first glance, it’s easy to brush it all off and say of course I love all of myself, or I love myself.
But the bit I am after in this self-reflection, is the parts of you that you don’t love or don’t like about yourself. If you were to start to make a list of those areas, it could start to be quite telling.
On a pathway of self-exploration and self-development, self-acceptance for me is one of the keys of Love. I describe Love as being something you can experience, either on your own, with another object or person, but I also want to introduce the idea of it being a state of being. By this I mean, feeling in contact with your heart centre as well as your logical head both at the same time. See if you can practice that for a while, how it is to sit between these 2 places, head and heart and then take a look around you. The world can start to look quite different.

Headache, fatigue, stiff neck, and cramps are all signs of stress. Chronic stress makes our muscles so tensed that they get swollen and become painful over time. Stretching out is a very convenient way to ease stress when you’re in the middle of a paperwork. Here are some of them, cut them out and you may need less of my professional help:
1. Not observing correct posture. Incorrect posture can add so much pressure and stress on your spine and to your muscles. Moreover, it can change the anatomical characteristics of your spine. When sitting, keep the hips a little higher than the knees and stand with the knees slightly bent, and one foot forward. This takes off the pressure from the lower back and decrease strain in the back.
2. Not getting up from your desk for a long time. If you’re like most office workers who are always chained in their desks, chances are you experience lower back pain on a regular basis. Inactivity makes your muscles weaker and damages your spine. Find time to get up from your chair and take a few minutes walking. If it isn’t possible, do some stretching. Ten minutes of stretching is enough to recharge your batteries and make you energetic for the rest of the day.
3. Smoking. People who smoke and have a sedentary lifestyle are more likely to develop serious diseases such as heart disease and cancer. Also, the nicotine in tobacco prevents the blood from reaching the discs that support your vertebrae, triggering back pain. More...

When taken with caution, worrying can be an essential tool that will keep you protected from life’s perils. Here are some things you can do to manage your worries and some other negative emotions:

Perhaps the reason why cognitive therapy is very effective in helping people address anxiety and other behavioural disorders is because it is centred on changing one’s perspective.
